I’ve fallen out of the habit of reading, and it’s been hard to get back into it. I decided to start with an old favorite, Jane Eyre, which I’ve read nearly every year since I was twelve until I got caught up in teh interwebs and its own particular form of entertainment. I mean, I have been reading, just not books.

So the Big Damn Read is slower to start than the Big Damn Write, which is chugging along pretty well. I’m averaging 1000 words a day, which is twice as many as I need to hit my yearly goal but just what I need to hit my monthly goal. If I get more than 200,000 words this year—much more—I’ll be fine with that.

And in purely unrelated to either of these projects news, two of my books each got a new review lately and a fic from 2007 got nominated for a fandom award. So yay . My ego will survive another day.
